About Me

My name is Dave, and I’ve been an adventurer my whole life. When I was a kid, I would spend hours out in the yard digging. I had gotten it into my head that there were lost cities everywhere, and all you had to do was start digging to find them. Although I spent a lot of time destroying the backyard, I never did find that city. But my passion for exploration and discovery was only just beginning.

On another one of those early adventures, I found the masonry remains of a well sunken into a swamp in the woods. My mind immediately started to race with thoughts of the structure that once existed there and the people that lived and worked there.

Fast-forward a few years to university, and I ventured into the bowels of Rochester, NY to explore the abandoned subway system. Thus, my love of abandoned buildings and their stories began.

The Great Lakes offers some of the best wreck diving in the world, and when I got my Open Water scuba certification at 15 I found yet another passion. This has led me to diving wrecks and caves throughout the world, and the realization that there is so much left underwater that is yet to be discovered.
